| Steps Required: Provide the County Clerk with written evidence from the United States Veterans Administration or any other appropriate federal agency stating the period of time that the applicant was a prisoner of war and in the case of the spouse show proof of the former POW's death. To personalize these plates submit an application along with $25.00 to the county clerk by September 1st of the year preceding the registration year. |

| Remarks: If the vehicle has a "regular" registration plate, that plate must be turned in to the County Clerk. Credit will be given for any months remaining on the "regular" registration. The personalized plate cannot conflict with the state number/letter system nor be offensive to good taste and decency. The customer has the option of ordering a "new" plate each year or renewing with a decal only. $5.00 of the initial fee goes to the fund and at renewal time, the individual has the option of donating a minimum of $5.00 to the fund. Maximum number of characters for this plate is four (4). |
