Who is eligible for this plate?
Any veteran who has been declared 70% (or more) disabled by the Veterans Administration and who has not received financial assistance from the Veterans Administration toward the purchase or lease of a motor vehicle required to be registered under KRS186.050 (1) or (3) (A).

Steps Required:
Provide the County Clerk documentation from the Veterans Administration certifying that he/she is 70% (or more) disabled. To personalize these plates submit an application along with $25.00 to the county clerk by September 1st of the year preceding the registration year.

Annual Renewal Cost:
$40.00

Decal Expires:
July 31st

Remarks:
If the vehicle has a "regular" registration plate, that plate must be turned in to the County Clerk. Credit will be given for any months remaining on the "regular" registration. The personalized plate cannot conflict with the state number/letter system nor be offensive to good taste and decency. The customer has the option of ordering a "new" plate each year or renewing with a decal only. $5.00 of the initial fee goes to the veteran's trust fund and at renewal time, the individual has the option of donating a minimum of $5.00 to the fund. Maximum number of characters for this plate is four (4).
