Who is eligible for this plate?
An individual must either serve currently in the U.S. Armed Forces (active duty, reserve, National Guard) or have retired from or been discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces in an honorable status (i.e.., no dishonorable or bad conduct discharge).

Steps Required:
Show proof of eligibility to the County Clerk: A current military "Armed Forces of the United States Geneva Conventions identification card" (Id card), Discharge papers that state the condition of discharge (whether honorable, general, administrative, etc. - dishonorable or bad conduct discharges are not authorized to purchase this license plate), or other documentation that shows service, such as awards citations or promotion documentation. If the clerk is unsure whether an individual qualifies for the plate he/she may call the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs at (502) 564-9203 or 1-800-572-6245 for a ruling.

Remarks:
This plate may be issued to any Non-commercial truck, SUV or passenger vehicle owned or leased by the Veteran. The initial cost includes $5.00 which goes to the Veterans Trust Fund. A minimum of $5.00 may be donated to the Veterans Trust Fund at the time of renewal. This type of plate is issued every five years, and will be replaced in the year 2003 and every 5th year after.
